Yes, but Jude’s no Nigel
“You’ll just have to be the grown up here”
I think Elizabeth forgot who she was speaking to (though it can be said that the immaturity levels in Brookfield plummet when David, Jude and Pip are in the same room!).
If Pip thinks she’s bagged a Nigel, she’s most surely wrong.
Jude doesn’t seem to be a cad of Leon proportions, but he certainly seems to be a bit of an arse.

That's a bit rich, coming from Elizabeth, a woman who was perfectly capable of throwing spoiled brat tantrums and playing on her family's deep anxiety about her heart problems well into her late thirties. Her current incarnation as gracious lady of the manor is a relatively recent development. To do her justice, she's done a brilliant job at Lower Loxley but I'm rather expecting a return to form in the aftermath of her father's death.
David was wonderful when Ruth had breast cancer. He's brilliant in a crisis, it's the rest of the time he's a bit whiny and inadequate ....
Ah - that expalins a lot. I was a bit surprised to hear Elizabeth be so damning about David.
I wish I had experienced this other David. I can't get away from the sheer smugness of both Ruth and David, so have a hard time seeing any good in him.
In saying that - I think he's right to be a bit 'angry dad' about Jude.
