Green Weddings and Garden Festivals
Lots for Roy to learn at Lower Loxley, all of which he sounds very excited about.
Seemingly Green Weddings have the ethos of “Reduce, reuse, recycle”. They involve things like painting initials on pebbles for name places and throwing bird seed rather than confetti.
(sounds fairly ‘quirky’ but average. Just a marketing ploy?).
And the Garden festival is “loosely based on growing cooking and eating your own food”. It has speakers, a bee keeping display, plants and food stalls, the Lower Loxley allotments selling their surplus, champagne and strawberry tents … and a bouncy castle.
Brilliant.
But was it just me who thought it sounded like Elizabeth wasn’t really giving Roy much responsibility, or anything to do? Sounded like he was just overseeing.
Divine retribution for Clarrie poaching one of Joe’s humbugs
Is a trip to the dentist with a cracked tooth.
Where’s the divine retribution for Joe and Eddie? They surely rate higher.
Which corner is that, Kathy?
Jamie’s getting himself up in the morning, and actually volunteered to mow the lawn.
[Kathy] “I don’t want to count my chickens, but I think we’ve turned a corner”
I don’t wish to be too cynical, but I think Kathy is indeed assuming too much too soon.
First – she’s pandering to Jamie. He may have offered to mow the lawn, but she let him off because of his exams. It’s easy enough for him to appear to be good when he knows he won’t actually have to do anything.
And second – it’s Jamie’s mates. Until he tells Steve and co. to naff off, he doesn’t stand a chance of being a nice bloke.
BUT – I’d be a very happy chappy if this is a new dawn for Kathy and Jamie. No more shouting …
Elizabeth needs Lynda, not David
Elizabeth is calling on David to sort her pasture out.
Seemingly it needs aeration.
Surely Lynda should be her first port of call, after her personal session with Matthew Wilson from Gardeners’ Question Time?
Either way, wasn’t Roy starting at Lower Loxley meant to stop Elizabeth needing David?
Especially when he’s so stressed and busy at Brookfield.
Just wait until Ruth hears about this.
Clarrie also forgets about Emma and Ed
Will tells Clarrie about his plans for her, Joe and Eddie to go to Will and Nic’s for Clarrie’s birthday.
She’s delighted.
But oddly, also doesn’t spot that Ed and Emma aren’t invited.
Is Will getting anonymous sperm?
Will tells Clarrie that he’s seen Helen.
[Will] “She looks really happy, like glowing”
Then he asked Clarrie how Pat and Tony were doing.
[Will] “You know, with how Henry came about”
Odd.
Is Will planning to have his baby without the (rather unwilling) Nic?
How exactly would that work, then?
