I started this blog on the 7th of January 2010, posting about the eavesdropping episode of 6th January 2010.
As I’ve said many times – I only started the blog to have somewhere to put my witterings about Ambridge. Most of my friends don’t eavesdrop, and my wife certainly doesn’t. I had no idea about blogging, and no expectation.
How amazed was I that folks actually started commenting on the blog!
The visits to the blog shot up in their hundreds almost overnight (now at thousands every day). My Twitter profile (@thearchersfan) starting getting followers. The official BBC website pages about The Archers link to my blog. And I’ve even been interviewed by the press (even from outside of the UK).
Though I am sometimes late with my posts due to life outside of Ambridge interrupting, I always catch up eventually. Life just isn’t in sync if I have Pondered the Archers.
It’s really because a way of life for me now. As self-employed, it’s one of the few parts of my life which is purely a hobby. No fee applies.
A huge thanks to you for reading the blog, and I look forward to celebrating the 5th … 10th … 20th … 40th … anniversary of the Pondering the Archers blog.
Yours Aye,
Inga

Happy Anniversary! Hope your wife didn't forget. :-)
I've only come across your Ponderings of late but am enjoying them, thank you. I still read the Lowfield summaries, which often appear soon after the eavesdrop airing, but they give more of a precis of the recording rather than your commentary.
Cheers! Course she forgot, but tolerated my celebrations ;)
And delighted you read, enjoy and also take the time to comment. Always a pleasure.
Hi Inga - congratulations!!! And thank you so much for sharing your ponderings with us - we certainly don't have anyone else to ponder with in Venice! What an invaluable public service you provide.
You'll probably wear down your wife eventually - it took about 10 years of living with me for my hubby to get sucked in :-)
Many thanks Caroline! It's a pleasure :)
The wife has no interest 11 years on. Ho hum!
Try getting her into making soup on Sunday morning, and hope there's nothing she likes on R3 then - that's what worked for me :-)
Worth a go :)
