Conspiracy against Tracey: Thurs 13.12.12 #ambridgeextra

Ambridge Extra Thursday 13th December 2012

• Sarah Martin sounds like a right b*tch
• “Oh God, Clive Horrobin!”
• Tracey’s accused of “excessive force” on a child
• Donna hasn’t got enough food for Poochy
• Does Clive have a girlfriend?

Sarah Martin sounds like a right b*tch

She was the teacher who caught Tracey asleep on the job the other day. Then smelt Tracey’s hangover. And reported her to the head.

So, when Tracey hears this Sarah Martin gossiping about her, she sees red.

[Tracey] “Excuse me, Ms Martin.”

Tracey then starts to shout at Sarah Martin …

[Sarah] “God, we’re not on Jeremy Kyle Tracey!”

(meow!)

That just makes Tracey even more furious.


“Oh God, Clive Horrobin!”

Was what the bloke cried when Clive Horrobin jumped him.

It was the bloke who’d been loan sharking Donna.

Clive gives him a beating, and makes him guarantee that Donna’s debt is cancelled.

How can Clive be sure the guarantee will hold?

He also takes the bloke’s mobile, and takes down his mum’s phone number.

(that’s actually quite clever of Clive)

[Clive] “Nice doing business with you. Oh. Merry Christmas!”

Ha!

I don’t like Clive at all, but that bloke had it coming.


Tracey’s accused of “excessive force” on a child

Tracey was trying to break up two kids from fighting, during which she grabbed one of the kid’s arms.

Sarah Martin sees it happening, and claims Tracey was far too rough.

[Sarah] “So you admit it, you used excessive force on Martha!”

Tracey tries to wiggle her way out of it:

[Sarah] “Don’t you trying an treat me like your kids, you patronising cow!”

Yikes! Jeremy Kyle, it is!!!

Sarah now claims it’s a child protection issue, which will need to be reported.

[Tracey] “You scheming lying toe rag, Sarah Martin!”

Tracey’s sent home, and the local authority will be involved.

[Tracey] “But I really didn’t hurt Martha.”

[Sarah] “And that’s what the officer will reveal. Have some faith in the system.”

Tracey reckons Sarah has fitted her up because she was embarrassed to be caught gossiping earlier on.

Conspiracy …

[Sarah] “You see, that’s exactly your problem there, everyone knows what a short fuse you have, and all that drinking just exacerbates it … why not try the supermarket, or there are some lovely little pubs around here!”

What a witch!

I agree with Tracey. It is a fit up, but Tracey can also blame herself for her hangover the other day, which started this all off.

So – Tracey might be out of a job ahead of Christmas. AND she’ll miss the school carol concert.


Donna hasn’t got enough food for Poochy

[Donna] “Naughty dog … eaten the cushion … jumping on the furniture … I know, you’re missing him as well, aren’t you?”

Well, considering Donna doesn’t even have any food in for Poochy, and doesn’t sound like she’s walking her (him?), I think Poochy’s problems is from a lack of attention and an empty belly.

Poochy sounds like a clever (albeit nippy) wee thing.

She (he?) certainly doesn’t like Clive.


Does Clive have a girlfriend?

He claims so. But his flat shows no sign of a woman in residence.

Just a ploy to make Donna feel that his intentions are purely honourable?

I would think so.

Clive’s spending a lot of time complimenting Donna, while making sure she’s dependent on him for money.

This can’t end well …

Ambridge Extra Tuesday 12th April 2011: Move the hidden Microphones (please)

In a break from my usual Archers blogging, I’m forced to squeeze everything about today’s Ambridge extra into one wee posting.

And that’s simply because I’m really (really!) struggling to say anything about today’s eavesdropping episode.

So:

First off – was today Sunday? Jamie came down the stairs to tell Fallon Kathy had said yes to him working. So is Ambridge Extra two days behind? Over a few days? Or did Jamie get lost on the stairs???

Odd.

Chris collects Alice from Uni to go back home for three weeks. He’s quite distant, she’s nervously chatting away and she’s keen to get Chris away from Chas (before Chas mentions anything about them sharing a bed when Alice was blootered). At home. Alice cooks a nice meal and suggests a bit of ‘budge-nudge’, but Chris isn’t interested. He wants to go to the pub to meet Roy.

Alice reckons that Kenton and Jolene is a bit hard on Kathy:

[Alice] “But what about Kathy? That’s the second time Jolene’s done that to her … I mean you’d never trust anyone ever again”

Daniel invites Jamie along on a double date. Jamie’s skint, so borrows off of Steve. Steve then gets Jamie to try and steal him some booze from The Bull. Jamie tries, but is caught by Fallon (though she doesn’t realise he was trying to steal).

Chas fancies Alice, I reckon.

And that’s that.

(badly don’t want to be like a BBC message board angry … but really think someone needs to be better at placing those hidden microphones …)

So what’s all this talk of Ambridge Extra on BBS Radio 4 Extra?



The Beeb reckons:

“The idea is that you'll be able to hear more stories from in and around Ambridge, and also we'll be able to go further afield with Archers-related characters.

“You can enjoy the new series without listening to the main Archers programme. And you can continue to listen to The Archers without missing out on anything essential. But if you follow both programmes, then you'll get a deeper insight into what's going on in our characters' lives. You'll also hear from new characters in Ambridge Extra who don't appear in The Archers, or who are only minor characters there.”

So far, I’ve heard mention of Rhys (The Bull’s barman) shall break his silence, we’ll be able to hear Alice at Uni and more from Jamie.

From what it sounds like – all very Hollyoaks ‘after dark’ (for those sensible enough to have never stumbled onto Hollyoaks – it’s a teen drama about bonny, but rather dull and thick, young folks … mind numbing stuff).

Now – Ambridge can sometimes be a bit dull (as is real life), often features thick ‘uns (Sabrina, I am looking at you) and does have a smattering of young people.

So, in theory, Ambridge Extra should be a welcome addition to us eavesdroppers.

Here’s hoping.

But do pardon my cynicism … I think I’m still suffering from all of the #sattc (Shakes Ambridge to the Core/Nigel’s death) build-up. I still maintain it was a cracking eavesdropping episode, but felt slightly dirty after having completely fallen for the huge build-up.

And I’ve said this on Twitter – if I am sounding like one of those really angry people who write on The Archers forums on the BBC, please do tell me …
